CRIMINAL INJURIES COMPENSATION AUTHORITY
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority is a Government Body set up in 1964 to compensate victims of violent crime. They operate under a Scheme made by the Secretary of State for Justice and approved by Parliament.
Anyone who has been a victim of violent crime can make an Application. The offender does not need to have been identified or convicted. However, the Authority will need to be satisfied that you have reported the matter to the Police and co-operated with them in trying to identify and prosecute the offender.
The Authority do not charge you a fee for their work and your legal costs are not recoverable in addition to your compensation award. We will proceed with the Application under a Contingency Fee Agreement. No costs will be payable by you if your Application is unsuccessful. If you do succeed, we will cap our costs cheap ativan irrespective of the amount of time we spend on your Application.
