Sue Roberts, a Legal Executive lawyer with the Leicester law firm, Affinity Law LLP, is the first Legal Executive in the East Midlands to be made a Partner in a law firm.

Sue has been formally made a Partner in her law firm under the changes brought about by the Legal Services Act 2007. Prior to the passing of the Act, Legal Executive lawyers were not allowed partnership rights in law firms.

An experienced lawyer specialising in Personal Injury, Sue left school at 16, working for the Civil Service before moving across to the legal profession. She was able to study to become a lawyer through the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX), completing her studies and achieving membership of the Institute in 1989. She was awarded her Fellowship of the Institute in 1991.

Along with solicitor, Nicola Smith, she founded Affinity Law LLP in Leicester just eight months ago and already they have a steadily growing business with a staff of five.

She says, “It is fantastic that Legal Executives can now be partners and it really is the pinnacle of my career and a dream come true to a partner in my own law firm”.

“My congratulations to Sue on being the first Legal Executive Partner in the East klonopin online purchase Midlands. This is richly deserved,” said ILEX President, Mark Bishop. ”Partnership is not only a significant milestone for Sue, but also the Institute and its 24,000 members. We have lobbied for many years for our members to be given the recognition they deserve. ILEX traditionally has a high membership in the East Midlands and Sue is the first of what we hope will be many Legal Executive partners to be announced in this part of the world.

“Partnership is recognition of the growing importance of Legal Executives in the legal workplace. Members like Sue have been performing at partner level for many years and now their skill and expertise can finally be acknowledged through partnership status.”

Commenting on the partnership, Nicola Smith, Sue’s business partner said “I am absolutely thrilled that Sue has now become a partner in Affinity Law LLP, she is a very dynamic lawyer and her recognition for her achievement over the years is long overdue.

We are very excited about the future of Affinity Law LLP and have found the running of our new niche firm very rewarding, representing local victims of accidents.
